    Q: What makes QC Homes different from any other real estate website?
    A: Promotion! QC Homes is part of the Moline Dispatch Publishing Co., which includes Quad-Cities Online, The Dispatch, The Rock Island Argus, and ADextra. Your ad will be seen online 24 hours a day, PLUS a combined newspaper audience of 240,000. Not only that, but you'll be in complete control of how your ad looks online and what it says, with the ability to change it at any time.

    Q: Who can use QCHomes? What if I have a real estate agent?
    A: Anyone can advertise a home at QCHomes.com. There is no restriction to any certain category of seller. If you have advertised your home with a real estate agent, let your agent know you'd like to be on QCHomes. You or your agent may arrange for the ad. Remember, when selling your home, you can't have too much promotion!

    Q: Can I advertise my house on other websites if I'm on QCHomes.com
    A: Certainly. QCHomes.com does not restrict sellers from advertising in any other venue, whether print or online. You also are welcome to use your photos from QCHomes.com in other advertising at any time.

    Q: How do I place an ad?
    A: It's easy. Click the Sign Up link on the main QCHomes.com page and fill in the form. You will be asked to choose one of three ad packages. When you're finished, you may log in to Your Account with the user name and password you've chosen. Now you're ready to click the Build Your New Ad link. You may include as much or as little information about your home as you wish. Don't worry about forgetting something -- you can always log back in and edit your ad.

    Q: What if I need help with my ad?
    A: QCHomes can help! We will visit your home at your convenience, take digital photos, and have you fill out a form for your ad. There is an extra fee for this service of $50 per hour. One hour usually will be sufficient. Please note that this service is available only in the Quad-Cities metro area.

    Q: How many photos can I use online?
    A: Up to six photos are allowed. Photos should be JPG format and should be less than 100KB each. You may change the photos in your ad at any time by logging in to your account and clicking the Edit button next to your ad.

    Q: May I use photos of my home on QCHomes.com which were taken by someone else?
    A:If the photos were not taken by you or by QCHomes, you should check with the photographer who did take them before you use them. Under our Terms of Agreement, copyrighted material may not be posted or uploaded to QCHomes without the permission of the copyright holder(s).

    Q: How often can I edit my ad? What can I change?
    A: You have the ability to edit your ad as often as you wish! You may change any of the information that you originally included. If you change the price in your ad, or add an open house date, this will be automatically flagged next to your ad when it's displayed.

    Q: My online ad shows up on QCHomes.com as soon as I advertise my home. Now when will my one-line print ad show in the newspapers?
    A: The print deadline for the weekend editions is midnight Monday. If you enter your home in the QCHomes.com database by midnight on Monday, it will be in our print advertisements the following Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

    If you advertise your home after Monday your home will NOT be included in our advertisements the following weekend, but will be on the next.

    Example: You create your online ad on Monday, Nov. 1. Your print advertisement will start on Friday, Nov. 5. If your online ad is created after that (between Tuesday, Nov. 2, and Monday, Nov. 8, your weekend ad will begin on Friday, Nov. 12.

    Q: I selected an ad package that includes a classified ad, when will my classified ad appear in the newspapers?
    A: Your classified ad will appear in the newspapers at least two-days after the newspaper description and photo are placed in your online ad.

    Q: How often am I charged?
    A: Once! Your ad at QCHomes.com can stay online until you sell your home. However, your free print ad will run for only the first 30 days. If you wish to renew it after that period, you may do so by emailing info@qchomes.com, or calling QC Homes at (309) 757-8385.

    Q: Do I have to use a credit card?
    A: No. We will accept a check or cash payment in advance. Please contact us to arrange this.

    Q: What if I forget my login information?
    A: Put your email address in the login box and click the box underneath that says "Help I forgot my password!" We will email it to you immediately.

    Q: I don't have a digital camera. How do I get my photos online?
    A: You can mail your photos to us or drop them off at our office, and we will scan them and put them in your ad. There is a $15 fee for this service. If you include a self-addressed, stamped envelope we will mail the photos back to you. Be sure to include your name and the address of the home. Photos can be mailed to the following address: QC Homes, 1810 5th Ave. Moline, Ill., 61265.

    Q: What if I take my own photo's with my digital camera and just can't figure out how to upload them? Can I just e-mail the images to you and have you re-size and upload them to my ad for the $15 fee?
    A: Yes. Make sure your camera is set to take the photo's in the .jpg image file format. You can e-mail them to info@qchomes.com. Also include your name and address so the images can be added to the proper ad.

    A: Yes. You can e-mail the photo's to info@qchomes.com and include your name and address in the subject field. If you choose to bring your memory card in, our address is 1810-5th Ave. Moline, IL. The type of "memory cards" we can get the images from are as follows: CompactFlash Type I, CompactFlash Type II, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick PRO Duo, miniSD, MultiMediaCard, RS-MMC, SD Card, SmartMedia, xD and xD Type M. You are responsible for knowing your camera's memory card type. The fee for this service is $15 which includes resizing and uploading the six images to your QCHomes.com ad.

    Q: How many yard signs do I get and how much do they cost?
    A: You may have as many signs as you like. We require a $35 deposit for each sign.

    The deposit is fully refunded when you return the sign in good condition. Signs may be picked up next to The Dispatch Building at 1810 5th Ave. Moline, IL. Hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. If you live within the Quad-Cities metro area, we will deliver your sign to your home for a $15 trip fee. Someone must be at home to receive the sign and pay the deposit.

    Q: What about all of the legal stuff like deeds and easements and liens and abstracts and title searches; what do I do about that stuff?
    A: QCHomes.com is a marketing and promotional service that connects buyers with sellers. We cannot advise you on those topics. You'll need to consult your attorney or other relevant licensed professional.
